Dementia – increasing number worldwide

Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia, and symptoms include memory loss that eventually affects all daily activities.

Anja-Xiaoxing Cui | Co-PI & PI of M4M Austria

PhD, Assistant Professor, trained in EEG-methodology with expertise in evaluating the impact of music training using neuropsychological and neuroimaging methods.

In M4M, she serves as co-PI and PI of M4M Austria and develops and tests the EEG-paradigm used to capture memory for music. She supervises the PhD student and the postdoctoral researcher regarding adaptation of the EEG paradigm to different sites. She will also be responsible for developing the data-analysis pipeline to produce EEG results and prepare them for research dissemination.

Narly Golestani | Co-investigator

PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Vienna, expert of structural and functional bases of auditory encoding.

Ana Isabel Correia | Postdoctoral researcher

PhD, trained in Psychology. Within the M4M project, Ana is part of the Austrian team as a postdoctoral researcher. She contributes to various aspects of the project, including data collection and analysis. Her background combines experimental methods and neuroimaging techniques, with research interests in music cognition, vocal communication, and emotion perception.

Albert Stickler | PhD student

PhD student at the University of Vienna. Albert started working on the M4M pilot project with healthy adults as part of his master's thesis, where he helped with study design, participant coordination, data collection and analysis. He now continues to provide his further assistance to the M4M team with the previously gained expertise.
